JUNK

Jess first volunteered for Brian Sanders’ JUNK Snowball 2016 at Union Transfer as an event dancer. She danced again for JUNK’s Fringe Arts show, “Plunge” in August 2018. After performing as a featured dancer/aerialist in Brain Sanders’ 2018 holiday show, “Adventures in The Arctic Elf Trade and Other Tales from The Pole,” Jess performed in JUNK’s “Romeo and Juliet” with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Kimmel Center in April 2019. She performed again for JUNK at the Philadelphia Fitler Club in October 2019. Jess performed “Out of The Darkness” in October 2020 for Philly Fringe, after months of preparing for a series of performances which were canceled due to the unfortunate circumstances of the global pandemic. Her solo piece (left) and a duet (right) with Philadanco’s Victor Lewis Jr, which were performed live on zoom, can be viewed below.

In March 2021, JUNK collaborated, once again, with The Philadelphia Orchestra for the company’s virtual performance, CARMEN, at the Kimmel Center. In the 2021 summer and fall premiere of “Dragonbutter Beta Trials,” Jess performed in an immersive experience transporting the audience into a science-fiction video game. Most recently in October 2021, Jess performed a series of dance, physical theatre and aerial performances in “Ancestral Lights,” taking part in Aqulumina, a riverside lantern festival at the Artyard Center in Frenchtown, NJ.
